Toni Marie's

When disease strikes, it sometimes leaves a lasting impression on a person’s physical appearance as well as his or her general well-being. What is a patient to do when chemotherapy has not only made her ill but has also taken her hair and left her feeling less of a woman? What about others—men and children included—whose illness or medications cause unsightly skin problems?Toni Marie Robideaux

Since 1998, a unique service in Spokane has been helping patients whose appearance is affected by disease or its treatment. Today, that program is called Toni Marie’s (formerly the Positive Image Center) and is located within the Sacred Heart Women’s Health Center.

Toni Marie Robideaux was a bright, exciting, professional woman, known and loved throughout the Spokane community for her creative flair and love for travel. In addition to living with multiple sclerosis, Toni fought breast cancer for 12 years before she passed away in January 2004. After her death, Toni’s husband, John, made a generous contribution to the Sacred Heart Foundation to establish Toni Marie’s in her memory.

“Toni Marie’s is very important in people’s lives, especially for people who are looking to get back to work, back to school, or just get back to life,” John says. “Getting back to life is what Toni was all about.”
