About File Formats

GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) - This file type is commonly used on the web and allows for transparency on screen as well as animation. This file type is very low resolution (72 dpi) and will not translate well to paper. Can be placed in PowerPoint presentations.

JPG (Joint Photographics Expert Group Compressed File) - Commonly used in web sites, jpg files are normally at a low resolution of 72 dots per inch (dpi). These types of files are not recommended for use in your publications because of the low quality. Can be placed in Word documents or PowerPoint presentations for on-screen use.

To download a file, follow these instructions: (Internet Explorer Instructions)

  1. Right Click the link for the file you'd like to download.
  2. Choose 'Save target as' and select the folder you'd like to save the file in.
  3. To use the image in a Word or Power Point document, you must use the built in interface within Word or PowerPoint. Go to the top toolbar of Word or PowerPoint and choose 'Insert -> Picture'. Then navigate to the logo you saved to your hard drive. If you are having problems downloading a file, please use the online contact form and choose 'website problems'.
