Nationally, heart disease remains the leading cause of death among women.

Sponsored by the American Heart Association, Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children‘s Hospital, and Holy Family Hosptial, the fifth annual Go Red for Women luncheon is an inspirational event that helps empower and educate women about their risk for heart disease and stroke.

Activities will include a silent auction, informative breakout sessions, a dynamic keynote speaker and a heart-healthy lunch. You will learn how to live a heart healthy life, and your $100 ticket will help support the American Heart Association.

    Tips for Heart-Healthy Meals

    - Michelle Weinbender, RD

Trying to make sense of all the diet and nutrition information out there? This breakout session will provide you with tips to plan quick and easy meals that taste great and get you on your way to better heart health with good nutrition.

Michelle is a registered dietitian at Sacred Heart Medical Center and the recipient of the 2007 Washington State Dietetic Association’s Outstanding Dietitian of the Year award.

    Stressed out from leading
    and not getting anywhere?

    - Kelli Pearson-Weary, DC

In this breakout session, Dr. Weary will share leadership principles from today’s experts and her own experience.

Kelli has been a chiropractic physician in Spokane for more than 25 years, and has been actively involved in the process of collaborative care with the medical community.

    - Dave Johnson, MD

Certain facts about your family’s medical history or daily habits can put you at risk for serious health problems. Yet five key numbers can translate into opportinities to achieve better health. Learn what these numbers are, and what they mean in order to support your efforts to be healthy and feel good!

Dave serves as Regional Medical Director for Premera Blue Cross in Eastern Washington, as well as corporate medical director for disease management, health risk management and population health.
